LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD CHAIR - JANUARY 2008

What a whirlwind year we just finished! In brief, here are some of our recent accomplishments:

• Our new Board members have taken a great lead in marketing, auditing practices, and working with the professional advisors’ community.
• Hiring a Director of Communications put us in the limelight in all local and regional media, including newspapers and magazines, radio, and the Internet.
• We are the fiscal sponsor for Solano Nonprofits Coalition, a learning community of local organizations.
• With a new $50,000 grant from United Way of the Bay Area, we can offer a robust series of workshops to the nonprofit public, all free-of-charge.
• We are restructuring our website, with an emphasis on “Making a Difference” in Solano County.
• A local private foundation has decided to transfer their assets to SCF, entrusting the management and administration of their funds here.
• We are working to increase our assets to be held as endowed funds, assuring the continuity of SCF and significantly increasing our self-sufficiency.
• We have new programs in the pipeline, to be launched during 2008. We will keep you posted!
