LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD CHAIR - JANUARY 2011
Dear Friends and Neighbors:
The Foundation continues to build momentum and find more ways to serve the community. We are delighted to share some highlights with you.
- We have moved to a new space at 470 Chadbourne Road in Busch Campus Park and are happy to have several nonprofit organizations as neighbors in this complex. In our larger and affordable facility, we have training rooms on site and more space for our Cooperating Collection. We can provide better services to the community, grantseekers using our Foundation Directory Online database, our donors, Board members, and stakeholders. We are grateful to CDI Companies for their vision and commitment to the community.
- Our Nonprofit Partnership Program is thriving and we will be conducting a series of highly relevant workshops and trainings, and networking mixers for members. Vacaville will be our focus in 2011 through our facilitated community conversation and community needs survey in September.
- With revenue from membership fees, reduced operating expenses, and solicited donations, we will again make grants this year through our Nonprofit Partnership Program, Community Memorial Fund Giving Program, and Education Plus! Mini-Grant Program. We have developed new partnerships with local corporations and businesses and look forward to lasting commitments resulting in community funding.
- The long-standing health fund we have held for United Way of the Bay Area has recently been endowed at SCF. This brings our total endowed assets under management to 90%, a remarkable milestone for any community foundation!
As we continue to expand and deepen our partnerships, we welcome the opportunity to help you further your philanthropic objectives. We invite you to peruse this website to learn more about SCF. Together we can lead the way to a better future for Solano County.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Wolf – President/CEO and
Mark Sievers – Board Chair
