NMX1: Connecting with the Media, Part I

This workshop is the first of four Nonprofit Partnership Program Breakfast Mixers starting at 7:45-9 a.m., with workshop immediately following.
 
"Connecting with the Media" will feature a panel of guest speakers who will discuss the various ways nonprofits can communicate their message via local media outlets.

NMX2: What Funders Want and How to Give it to Them, Part I

This panel format will provide an opportunity to hear directly from representatives of corporate, private, community, and governmental funders. These grantmakers will speak about their funding guidelines, what the do and do not support, and their proactive initiatives (new directions and/or those being discontinued). There will be ample time for questions and answers. 
 

It is recommended that participants also register for the companion hands-on workshop on May 17th – “What Funders Want and How to Give it to Them.”

NMX3: Develop and Maintain Volunteers, Part I

In response to the economic climate, government and business are issuing new calls to serve, and putting funds behind these initiatives. Many nonprofit groups are wondering whether they can absorb an influx of volunteers and if they are prepared to keep their volunteers happy and committed. This panel-format workshop will present different local viewpoints and experiences to help nonprofit Board and staff members understand the roles of volunteers and the best ways to maintain their enthusiasm and the enormous help they provide to the work of nonprofit organizations.

NMX4: Demystifying Nonprofit Finances Part I

This panel format will provide an opportunity to hear directly from accounting and bookkeeping professionals responsible for the management managing finances for nonprofit organizations.  Panelists will speak about financial management guidelines, state and federal requirements, and best practices.  There will be ample time for questions and answers. This session will be moderated by Connie Harris.

 

It is recommended that participants also register for the companion hands-on workshop on November 8:  "Demystifying Nonprofit Finances, Part II"
