This Fund’s purpose is to receive donations from companies and individuals in support of the fundraising efforts of the Solano Turkey Trot, an annual community event. This affair began on Thanksgiving Day in 2009, with the vision of bringing a family-friendly 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk to the local area.
The race is held in Suisun Valley in Solano County, with the main venue and start/finish line at Solano Community College. Carol Gilpin, Race Director for the event since the first race was held, is the owner of Fleet Feet Sports in Vacaville and has been active through running, walking and triathlons for more than 20 years.
Participation and support of the event by sponsors, donors, and runners raises much needed funds each year for services which help needy children and families in Solano County. 2020 marks the 12th year of the Solano Turkey Trot!
For the time being, while they are avoiding social and athletic gatherings, they are launching the 2020 Annual Solano Turkey Trot as a Virtual Run/Walk. For more information, please visit their Race Details Page.
