Our Mission The Greater Vallejo Recreation District promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles by providing safe parks and innovative, fun recreation programs for all residents. About GVRD GVRD is an independent government agency, separate from the City of Vallejo, dedicated to providing quality parks, facilities, recreation programs, and community experiences for children, families, adults, and seniors throughout Vallejo. The District is supported primarily through locally controlled funding and revenue generated from program registrations, facility rentals, park admissions, and other service fees. Grants and park dedication fees provide additional resources for park improvements, facility enhancements, and other community investments. Your Support Makes a Difference To expand community events, enhance recreation opportunities, and provide program subsidies for residents in need, GVRD welcomes support from individuals, businesses, organizations, and community partners.
